MacDebug respects your privacy. We do not track individual users or sell personal data. The site is a static technical resource — no accounts, no logins, no comment system. We use anonymized aggregate analytics (page-view counts, no IP-level identifiers) to understand which macOS issues are most common among our readers so we can prioritize research and updates.

We don't run third-party ad networks or behavioural-tracking scripts. Outbound links to software vendors may use cookies set by the destination site once you click through — those cookies are governed by the vendor's own privacy policy, not by MacDebug.

2. Affiliate disclosure

What this means. If you click an affiliate link and later make a purchase from that vendor, MacDebug may receive a small commission at no additional cost to you.

Why we use them. Affiliate revenue helps fund the time required to reproduce bugs, verify Terminal commands against man pages, and keep the site free. We only link to professional software (e.g., CleanMyMac X, Setapp utilities, Stellar Data Recovery) when it provides a genuine, verified solution to the problem described in the article — and the free manual fix always comes first.

What we don't do. We never accept payment for positive reviews. Recommendations are based solely on technical efficacy and ease of use. If a paid tool stops being useful or a vendor's behaviour changes, we remove the recommendation.

While every command on this site is cross-referenced against the official macOS man pages before publishing, MacDebug is not responsible for data loss, hardware issues, or downstream side effects from following our guides. The reader is responsible for understanding what each command does before running it.
