Fix Guide: Sequoia Universal Control Disconnects
Symptom: When moving your mouse from your Mac running Sequoia to an iPad or another Mac, the connection drops frequently or the cursor gets "stuck" at the edge of the screen.
Why this happens
Universal Control relies on the UniversalControl.framework and strict Wi-Fi/Bluetooth handshakes. Sequoia's new "Private Wi-Fi" addresses can cause the local device discovery to fail if the addresses rotate mid-session.
Recommended Troubleshooting Tool
Before proceeding with manual fixes, we recommend using OnyX. The preferred tool for deep system maintenance and resetting the macOS Bluetooth stack.

Fix 1: Disable "Rotate Wi-Fi Address"
- Go to System Settings > Wi-Fi.
- Click Details next to your network.
- Turn off Rotate Wi-Fi Address.
- Do the same on your iPad settings.
Fix 2: Restart the Disconnect Process
- Open Terminal.
- Run:
killall "Universal Control" - The process will restart automatically. If it doesn't, toggle the feature in System Settings > Displays > Advanced.
Recommended Tool: CleanMyMac
Network-related glitches often stem from outdated system logs or cache files. Use CleanMyMac to perform a "Maintenance" scan to keep your Mac's discovery services running smoothly.
