Fix Guide: Tahoe Safari Web Inspector "Sources" Tab Empty
Symptom: When debugging a website in Safari on macOS Tahoe, the "Sources" tab in the Web Inspector is empty, or the file tree on the left refuses to load, making it impossible to set breakpoints.
Why this happens
The Tahoe 26.2 WebKit update introduced a sandboxing change that can occasionally prevent the Inspector from accessing local mapping files or source maps if the "Develop" menu hasn't correctly initialized the debug bridge.
Recommended Troubleshooting Tool
Before proceeding with manual fixes, we recommend using CleanMyMac X. Excellent for clearing Safari caches, bloated databases, and stuck background processes.

Fix 1: Force Reload the Inspector
- While the Web Inspector is open, press Cmd + R (this reloads the Inspector UI itself, not just the page).
- If the files still don't appear, close the Inspector and reopen it using Cmd + Option + I.
Fix 2: Reset Safari's Developer Features
- Go to Safari > Settings > Advanced.
- Uncheck Show features for web developers.
- Re-check the box to force a re-registration of the Safari debug daemons.
Recommended Tool: CleanMyMac
Persistent Web Inspector glitches can be caused by corrupted Safari preference files. Use CleanMyMac to "Reset" Safari to its factory state, clearing out broken debug logs and cached extension data.
