How to Fix Universal Control Stuck in macOS Tahoe 26.2

Mouse cursor won't move from your Mac to your iPad?

TL;DR fix

The full fix is in The Fix section below. Verified on macOS Tahoe 26.2.

Recommended Troubleshooting Tool

Before proceeding with manual fixes, we recommend using CleanMyMac X. Quickly identify high CPU apps and optimize system memory with one click.

The Symptom

The cursor hits the edge of the screen and stops, even though Universal Control is enabled on both devices.

The Fix

  1. Reset the Screen Sharing Daemon
sudo killall -9 rapportd
  1. Cycle Handoff Settings

Toggle Handoff OFF and ON on both the Mac and the iPad.

  1. Check Display Arrangement

Go to System Settings > Displays > Arrange. Ensure the iPad is positioned correctly relative to your Mac's screen.

Pro Tip

Universal Control requires both devices to be signed into the same iCloud account with Two-Factor Authentication enabled. It will not work over a VPN.
