The Symptom

The power adapter is connected, but the battery percentage doesn't increase, or the menu bar shows a "Service Recommended" warning.

The Fix

  1. Toggle Optimized Battery Charging

Go to System Settings > Battery > (i) next to Battery Health. Turn off "Optimized Battery Charging" temporarily to see if charging resumes immediately.

  1. Clean the MagSafe/USB-C Port

Use a wooden toothpick or compressed air to remove lint or debris from the charging port and the cable connector.

  1. Reset the Power Manager

For Apple Silicon Macs: Shut down the Mac, wait 30 seconds, then plug it back in. For Intel: Perform an SMC reset.

Fix 3: The Advanced Power Health Scan

When background processes are drawing more power than the charger can provide.

Recommended Tool: CleanMyMac X

- Optimization: Identify "Heavy Consumers" that are draining your battery faster than it can charge.

- Maintenance: Run maintenance scripts to clear the system logs that might be reporting false battery health data.
