How to Fix iPhone Mirroring Clipboard Fail in macOS Sequoia 15.x

Symptom: You copy text on your Mac and try to paste it into an app within the iPhone Mirroring window on macOS Sequoia, but nothing happens, or it pastes old content from the iPhone's local clipboard.

TL;DR fix

Start with Fix 1: Restart the Pasteboard Daemon. If the issue persists after that, try Fix 2: Toggle Handoff. Full Terminal commands and step-by-step instructions are in each section below.

Why this happens

The Universal Clipboard integration in Sequoia relies on the pasted daemon and a secure handoff between the Mac's local pasteboard and the mirrored session. If the handoff process loses focus or the sharingd process stalls, the cross-device paste fails.

Recommended Troubleshooting Tool

Before proceeding with manual fixes, we recommend using CleanMyMac X. Quickly identify high CPU apps and optimize system memory with one click.

Fix 1: Restart the Pasteboard Daemon

  1. Open Terminal.
  2. Run the following command:

killall pasted

  1. This will restart the background service responsible for syncing the Mac and iPhone clipboards.

Fix 2: Toggle Handoff

  1. On your Mac, go to System Settings > General > AirDrop & Handoff.
  2. Turn off Allow Handoff between this Mac and your iCloud devices.
  3. Wait 10 seconds and turn it back on.
  4. Do the same on your iPhone: Settings > General > AirPlay & Handoff.

Recommended Tool: CleanMyMac

Clipboard sync issues are often tied to bloated system caches. Use CleanMyMac to perform a "Maintenance" scan and flush the DNS and discovery caches to restore seamless Handoff performance.
