Fix Guide: Sequoia "Screen Recording" Permission Loop
Symptom: Every time you open Zoom, Slack, or a screenshot tool, macOS Sequoia asks for "Screen Recording" permission even though you've already granted it in System Settings.
Why this happens
Sequoia 15.x has a new security daemon (tccd) that validates app signatures every 30 days for screen access. If an app was updated via a third-party manager, the signature might change, causing the permission to "break" even if the toggle is ON.
Recommended Troubleshooting Tool
Before proceeding with manual fixes, we recommend using CleanMyMac X. Quickly identify high CPU apps and optimize system memory with one click.

Fix 1: Reset the TCC Database
- Open Terminal.
- Type
tccutil reset ScreenCaptureand press Enter. - This will clear all screen recording permissions.
- Open your app (e.g., Zoom) and grant the permission fresh when prompted.
Fix 2: Remove and Re-add
- Go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Screen Recording.
- Select the problematic app and click the - (minus) button to remove it entirely.
- Relaunch the app and toggle the permission back ON when the system prompt appears.
Recommended Tool: CleanMyMac
Permissions often hang due to corrupted preference files (.plist).
- Run CleanMyMac's Maintenance scripts to "Repair Disk Permissions," which ensures the underlying security database is readable by the Sequoia kernel.
