How to Fix iPhone Mirroring Mic in use Errors in macOS Sequoia 15.x
Symptom: When using iPhone Mirroring on macOS Sequoia, a persistent "Microphone in use" notification appears, or the mic fails to pass through to Mac apps.
TL;DR fix
Start with Fix 1: Kill the Core Audio Daemon. If the issue persists after that, try Fix 2: Reset Screen Recording Permissions. Full Terminal commands and step-by-step instructions are in each section below.
Why this happens
The Sequoia audio subsystem (coreaudiod) sometimes fails to release the virtual microphone bridge created during the mirroring handshake.

- Toggle "iPhone Mirroring" off and back on.
- Do the same under "Screen Recording."
